Los Angeles Permaculture Guild
The Los Angeles Permaculture Guild publishes a newsletter is a useful and lengthy compilation of needs, surplus, events and articles, videos, pictures and announcements of interest to permaculture students, environmentalists, activists, gardeners and others. Some of the information is gathered from community input - so your suggestions are welcome.

Path to Freedom

A local suburban farm and example of trasition torwards sustainability in a urban/suburban settings utilizing permaculture, investing in energy efficiency and encouraging local community ties. There are many activities happening here including permaculture workshops, biodiesel mixn' mixers, knit togethers, video screenings and tours. Their website has a wealth of information and including an ongoing diary and information about biodiesel, free-cycle and solar power.

Los Angeles Eco-Village

LA echo-village is a two block area in the Wilshire Center/Koreatown neighborhood transitioning into a sustainable healthy urban community through education, growning food locally, weaning off the dependancy on cars and other local community activities. It is home to 500 people and includes buildings which are transitioning to resident ownership.

Tree People

TreePeople’s mission reaches far beyond the simple act of planting a tree. While our K-12 education programs raise environmental awareness, they also enrich academic lessons and teach potent life skills. While our forestry programs restore watersheds and fragile habitats, they also heal inner-city communities, bring neighbors together, cool and green campuses, and address serious urban issues such as water and energy conservation, flood prevention and stormwater pollution.
